Off and Running

Thursday, April 19, 2018

We are well into National Poetry Month. Two of my poems will appear in the 2018 Altadena Poetry Anthology.  I have previously been published in this Anthology in 2015 and 2017.   The prior publication was called “Poetry and Cookies” and I was published twice in that Anthology.

What does it mean to be published?  For me, I am very excited to know that someone enjoys or found meaning in something I wrote.   It also means I must step up to the next level and self publish.  I am starting small by organizing a series of poetry chap books.  These books will include 20- 25 poems.  The first chap book will be available for sale on Sunday, April 29th at the reading of the 2018 Altadena  Poetry Anthology.  Books are for sale beginning at 12 noon prior to the reading which begins at 1 pm .  I will be one of the first readers (poets are in alphabetical order), so if you want to hear me read, you will need to be at The Altadena Library before 1 pm.  I’m #4 on the list but attendance of poets is not guaranteed so I could end up reading earlier.   The chap book has not gone to the printer yet so the price is yet to be determined.  Please bear with me as this novice learns the ropes.  Mostly, I will be happy to finally provide my family, friends, and dare I say, fans with a tangible copy of my work.
